First Steps: Help, I have a problem, how do I report it.
-
We'd love to upgrade the knowledge base with best practices about resolving and reporting problems. Here is a first draft. We'd appreciate comments or feedback to improve it.
If you are experiencing problems with your Disciple.Tools instance, there are a number of things you can do to attempt to resolve the issue. Sometimes it is as simple as a screen refresh, navigating away and back, or logging back in.
If there truly is a problem, the first thing to ensure is that everything is updated including your theme and plugins. Make sure everything is updated. Sometimes we've found that it helps to also try using a different browser.
When it truly seems like something is broken, it really helps to have screen shots or screen recordings of what you're seeing. You can quickly screen record using (Command+Shift+F5) on Macs. Even good explanations are enhanced with picture and video.
Determine if it is failing consistently for everyone or what seems to be the pattern of failure if you're able to discern one.
Generally, we'd recommend posting your questions here on the forum or within the Slack Community so that the community as a whole can see the issue and ensure the most timely response. If the issue has to do with a plugin, you'll want to check out that specific plugin's topic thread here on the forum.
If the issue has to do with user accounts or passwords, you'll need to talk with your system administrator.
Software is buggy. The Disciple.Tools Community is striving to minimize the bugs while continuing to progress forward collaboratively to deliver a Kingdom tool of great value.
