It will be nice if an user can schedule meetings with contacts and these to synchronize with the calendar.

While native Google Calendar sync isn't currently available, you can use the Tasks feature on contact records to set meeting reminders with due dates. You'll get notifications inside D.T. This doesn't sync externally, but it helps track scheduled follow-ups.
