Site Link: Receive updates for metrics after hand-off?

When sharing contacts via site to site links, it doesn't seem like there is any data that comes back into the system after that hand-off. If a ministry wants to see some metrics of what happens to contacts that they send off to another site, is there a way to see or receive that data? How could that be facilitated in the site to site sharing process?
